I DO NOT enjoy New Year’s resolutions or To Do lists, but like most people I do want to make changes and complete a challenge. So I have learnt that it helps to be held accountable for completing a challenge, and not taking on too much at once.
If you can relate, then please read on. In 2015, Lumia has encouraged South Africans to actually stick to their goals by committing to any small challenge that gets you a step closer to your target.
So I have committed to putting in place a plan to get myself fit and strong to play sport again. After a very tough 2014 year where I ruptured my Achilles tendon playing 5-a-side soccer I am on my way to full recovery. I have been with a top physiotherapist at the Sports Science Institute and I’m on the home straight, BUT first I have a few targets to reach before I can get back to normal exercise or team sport, let alone kick a soccer ball again!
I have to build a set amount of muscle on my weaker leg before I am allowed to run again. So it is gym work, then I have to learn to jog again, before gradually speeding up my runs. All of this under the careful eye of my physio who is getting me ready to run, hike, box and potentially even kick a soccer ball around one day again!
I’d love to share my experience with you along the way, and I’d love for you to pledge, and share your progress with me too.

SO WHAT NEXT? If you want to commit to that goal you’ve been putting off for years, you can make it happen with Lumia right now. Lumia will also be giving away a Lumia 535 every week, so if you’re lucky, you could win by submitting your resolution!
